Throughout history, the concept of the afterlife has appeared repetitively across different ancient civilizations. Religious beliefs essentially dictated perceptions and processes of life after death, which differs within each culture . Ancient Egyptians, Incas, and Vikings possessed very similar belief systems as to what happens after death. How do these ancient civilizations interpret and celebrate the concept of the afterlife?
This 16-page zine covers the afterlives of three different cultures: Egyptians, Incans, and Vikings. Each culture is shown through four page spreads within the zine discussing religion, culture, and their beliefs for the afterlife.
The purpose of this project is to inform and educate the public on the ancient practices. Comparing and contrasting the afterlives of different ancient civilizations can give us new insights into the world.
